Alexandra Edie - AWSN, President
Alexandra Edie is a P.Geo, MBA who had a ten year career in the Energy Industry before returning to school to study Business. Alex now teaches Strategy & Business Environment courses part-time for the Haskayne School of Business and relishes the challenge of bringing relatable 'real world' examples to her students. Alex joined the AWSN team in 2019 and enjoys sharing her business knowledge while reconnecting with her STEM roots.
AWSN’s primary focus is to connect, unite, support and promote STEM programs for under-represented populations throughout the province. As a network, AWSN creates a collaborative environment where member groups and volunteers help each other, learning from each others’ experiences, successes and challenges. Along with our long-term volunteers, we have been fortunate this year to gain many new creative minds, who are lending their time and expertise across the board and our various committees.
Categorized under three pillars - Recruitment, Retention and Recognition - AWSN activities focus on supporting host programs through funding, in-kind support and volunteer resource connections.
