Bev Thornton is the Executive Director of Alberta SouthWest Regional Economic Development Alliance, a partnership of 15 rural municipalities. Since 2002 the region has been recognized with over 30 provincial, national and international awards, which reflects the high level of municipal leadership and commitment to advance economic development in agriculture, renewable energy, clean technology and tourism. AlbertaSW is the third of only 4 IEDC Accredited Economic Development Organizations (AEDO) in Canada.
