Ramona Horseman - Horse Lake Nation
Chief Ramona Horseman became Chief of Horse Lake First Nation in October 2017.
She wants her community to prosper and become self-sufficient and has been pursuing economic development opportunities. She is a leader in oil and gas development as well as forestry sectors. Traditional values, including promoting the languages and culture, are all priorities, as well as education and training. Ramona wants to advance people’s health, education and training. Her life skills and oilfield experience have prepared her for the position of President of HOCC. Ramona is also the Grand Chief of the Western Cree Tribal Council as well as the Deputy Grand Chief of Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta
